TikTok is trying to stop the government’s effort to ban the platform in the US.
The Chinese social media giant hired another former aide of Joe Biden’s to lobby the government on their behalf.
They hired Ankit Desai, who worked for Biden when he was a senator in 2005.
Ankit Desai worked with Old Joe back in 2005.
The Washington Examiner reported:
Another former Joe Biden staffer revealed he has joined TikTok’s growing lobbying army — the same day that the Chinese company’s CEO testified before Congress this week amid growing efforts to ban the app.
Ankit Desai, who worked for Biden in 2005 when the future president was a U.S. senator from Delaware, registered as a lobbyist for TikTok on Thursday while Shou Zi Chew’s contentious testimony in front of the House Energy and Commerce Committee was underway. The Chinese Communist Party-linked company is facing a potential ban by Biden.
Desai, who has been president of AND Partners LLC since last year, worked as a legislative correspondent for Biden in the Senate from March to December 2005, according to his LinkedIn. According to Open Secrets, he was also a political director for Biden that year, too. Desai’s online profiles say he had also been a budget director for John Kerry for President in 2004. Desai had also worked for two Democratic senators from New Jersey from 2002 to 2004.
TikTok previously hired Jamal Brown, who was the national press secretary for Biden’s 2020 campaign.

TikTok has responded by quickly amassing a huge roster of lobbyists with close ties to Biden and congressional leaders.
TikTok already employs Jamal Brown, who was national press secretary for Biden’s 2020 campaign. Earlier this month, TikTok contracted with SKDK, a powerful consulting firm with close ties to Biden. Anita Dunn, one of the firm’s founders, is currently serving as a senior adviser to the president.
TikTok and its parent company ByteDance spent $5.4 million on lobbying last year, according to nonpartisan research group OpenSecrets, its highest annual figure.
Democrats are scared to ban TikTok because it will upset young voters.

Americans are not buying the establishments’ latest attack on Donald Trump.
According to a new poll, 74.3% think that an indictment of Trump in the Stormy Daniels case would either help or have no effect on his 2024 campaign.
The poll found 36.8% think it will help Trump’s campaign while 37.5% say it will have no effect – only 25.7% think it will hurt his campaign.

When broken down by political party, 88.7% of Republicans think an indictment will either help or have no effect on Trump’s campaign.
That number is 72.4% among independents and 57.3% among Democrats.
Democrats are the only group in which more think it will hurt more than help his campaign.

Broken down by political party of respondents shows a pretty consistent view across the board among Democrats, independents, and Republicans — though among Republicans those who think it will help Trump jumps up into a clear majority.
Among Democrats, more than 57 percent believe an indictment would either not affect or help Trump’s campaign — 42.5 percent think it will have no effect and 14.8 percent think it will help him — while just 42.7 percent say it will hurt him.
Among independents, more than 72 percent think an indictment will have no effect or help Trump — 38.9 percent think it will have no effect and 33.6 percent say it will help him — while just 27.5 percent say it will hurt Trump.
Among Republicans, perhaps the most interesting group in the immediate term because these voters will decide the primary, a solid majority of 56.2 percent believe that an indictment would actually help Trump in his bid to retake the White House. Another 32.5 percent of Republicans say an indictment would have no effect on Trump’s White House chances — meaning that in total nearly 89 percent of GOP voters believe that an indictment would either help Trump or have no effect on his campaign — whereas just 11.3 percent say an indictment would hurt Trump.

Donald Trump is revealing letters from various celebrities and world leaders.
The letters will appear in a new book titled “Letters To Trump.”
The book will cost $99 — and $399 for a signed copy.
Axios reported:
Former President Trump, in a new book, plans to reveal 150 private letters sent to him — including one from Oprah Winfrey in 2000 in which she says: “Too bad we’re not running for office. What a team!”
The big picture: Trump writes that he still considers Winfrey “amazing” — but admits it’s not mutual: “Sadly, once I announced for President, she never spoke to me again.”

Behind the scenes: Trump’s new book includes letters — from presidents, royals, celebrities and business titans — that he chose from thousands he saved over 40+ years, and stashed at his various properties.
For each, Trump adds a photo and his own commentary about the author — and, for tough handwriting, some transcripts.
Letters from former Presidents Richard Nixon, Ronald Reagan, and Bill Clinton – alongside letters from Kim Jong-Un, Jair Bolsonaro, and Vladimir Putin will appear in the book.
Letters from Hillary Clinton, Ted Kennedy, Oprah Winfrey, Michael Jackson, Princess Diana and Mario Cuomo will also appear in the book.

The former President will include letters he received from presidents, royals including the late Princess Diana, world leaders, celebrities and business executives in his new book, called ‘Letters to Trump’.
The book from Winning Team Publishing will include letters from former Presidents Richard Nixon, Ronald Reagan, Bill Clinton as well world leaders including North Korean leader Kim Jong-Un, Russian President Vladimir Putin and former Brazilian President Jair Bolsonaro.

The book, set to be published on April 25, will also include letters from Hillary Clinton, Michael Jackson, former senator Ted Kennedy and the late American golfer Arnold Palmer.
Trump’s last book was a massive success grossing $20 million in just the first two months.

The Biden administration’s attacks on the unvaccinated aren’t over – Florida Governor Ron DeSantis is fighting back against it.
DeSantis has offered to “run a boat from the Bahamas” for the number one Tennis player in the world, Novak Djokovic, so he can play in the Miami Open.
Djokovic is unvaccinated.
CNN reported:
DeSantis said he would “run a boat from the Bahamas” for Djokovic to compete in the Miami Open tennis tournament later this month.
“I would run a boat from the Bahamas here for him. I would do that a hundred percent,” DeSantis said at a press conference in Tampa Wednesday.
“I think his people are looking at it, and I’m not sure that’s the way they want to come into the country, which I understand. I think it’d be a great moment, but you know, nevertheless.”
This comes after the Biden Administration denied Djokovic entry into the United States because he is unvaccinated.
The Biden Administration has no issue with millions entering the country illegally, however.

Novak Djokovic will not participate in the BNP Paribas Open this month after the Biden administration denied his entry to the United States, due to him being unvaccinated against COVID-19.
Djokovic, 35, requested a vaccine waiver, which would have allowed him to enter the U.S. unvaccinated, but it was rejected by the Homeland Security Department.
The 22-time Grand Slam champion subsequently withdrew from the combined ATP-WTA event, which begins Wednesday at Indian Wells Tennis Garden in Indian Wells, California.

DeSantis sent a letter to Biden blasting the decision.
He called his denial, “unfair, unscientific, and unacceptable.”

Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis has penned a fiery letter to President Joe Biden, criticizing the administration’s “misguided and unscientific” COVID-19 vaccine mandate for foreign travelers and asking the president to grant an exemption that would let unvaccinated tennis player Novak Djokovic compete in a Miami tournament.
DeSantis made the request in a March 7 letter to Biden, in which the Florida Republican said Djokovic had applied for the waiver—and been rejected.
“This denial is unfair, unscientific, and unacceptable,” DeSantis wrote of the tennis star’s vaccine drama.
All Republicans should demand Biden allow entry to Djokovic.

Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer is not happy that the Establishment’s January 6th narrative is falling apart.
He had a complete meltdown on the floor of the Senate and even called on Fox News to stop Tucker from releasing January 6th tapes.

The next day he lashed out at Speaker McCarthy for giving the footage to Tucker Carlson.
He accused McCarthy of enabling the spread of “Donald Trump’s Big Lie.”

Speaker McCarthy has held the gavel for less than three months.
But by sharing the January 6th security footage with Fox News, he has already done more than any party leader in Congress to enable the spread of Donald Trump’s Big Lie.

He mocked Schumer, asking if he wanted Twitter to remove a video of January 6th.

When is the Biden administration going to stand up to Iran?
Iran threatened both Donald Trump and top members of his cabinet for the killing of Qasem Soleimani in 2020.
Amir Ali Hajizadeh, head of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps aerospace force said on Iranian state television, “God willing, we are looking to kill Trump, Pompeo … and military commanders who issued the order should be killed.”
The threat came as they announced a new long-range cruise missile.

A Senior fellow at the Foundation for Defense of Democracies warned that these threats should be taken seriously.

Iran has renewed threats to target former President Donald Trump and top members of his former Cabinet, including former Secretary of State Mike Pompeo, for the 2020 killing of its top military commander, Qasem Soleimani.
“God willing, we are looking to kill Trump [and] Pompeo … and military commanders who issued the order should be killed,” Amir Ali Hajizadeh, head of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps aerospace force, told Iranian state television Friday.
The threats are nothing new, though this time they came as Tehran was announcing a new long-range cruise missile capable of flying more than 1,000 miles, which could give it additional striking capabilities to U.S. forces in the Middle East.

Senior fellow with the Foundation for Defense of Democracies Behnam Ben Taleblu argued that Iran’s comments should not be taken lightly and said, “Make no mistake, Iranian military officials mean what they say here. They still seek to wash blood away with blood.”
This isn’t the first time they have threatened Trump.

While the threats are no doubt serious, it also must be noted that we have heard all this before. Back on New Year’s Day 2022, the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Republic of Iran, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, tweeted: “Martyr Soleimani is an eternal reality that will live on forever. His assassins – including Trump & the like – will go down in history’s garbage bin, but of course after receiving retribution in this world for the crime they committed.”
Even before that, Iran’s state-controlled Ahlul Bayt News Agency reported on January 23, 2021, that the Supreme Leader’s official website “posted a photo-montage of former US President Donald Trump playing golf under the shadow of a drone, vowing to avenge the assassination of Iran’s Lieutenant General Qassem Soleimani.”
Khamenei also thundered in December 2020: “Revenge is certain.” He added: “The assassin of Soleimani and the one who ordered the murder should be punished. As an esteemed person said, Soleimani’s shoe is worth more than the assassin’s head and even decapitation of the assassin will not compensate for Soleimani’s shoe; but they did the wrong thing. They should be punished. The one who ordered and the assassin should know that they should be punished at any time possible.”
Trump was a favored Khamenei target even before Soleimani was killed. In February 2019, the Supreme Leader declared to a military gathering that “as long as America continues its wickedness, the Iranian nation will not abandon ‘Death to America.’ ‘Death to America’ means death to Trump, John Bolton, and Pompeo. It means death to American rulers.”

Donald Trump is not giving up exposing the 2020 election steal.
Trump blasted Mark Zuckerberg in a Truth Scocial post-Sunday.
Trump said, Zuckerberg “cheated on the Election(s)” and asked, “why isn’t he being prosecuted?”
Truth Social:
He cheated on the Election(s). The whole system is RIGGED. Why isn’t he being prosecuted? The Democrats only know how to cheat. America isn’t going to take it much longer!

Trump cited an article from Fox News saying that a Georgia elections board may have violated the law when they accepted money from a Zuckerberg-linked group.
The DeKalb County Board of Registration and Elections accepted $2 million from a Zuckerberg-linked group.
The Honest Elections Project called this a “flagrant and egregious” violation of a state ban on private funding.

A Georgia elections board may have violated state law when it accepted $2 million from a Mark Zuckerberg-linked group, a watchdog group claimed in a letter obtained by Fox News Digital.
The Honest Elections Project is calling for an investigation into the DeKalb County Board of Registration and Elections for a “flagrant and egregious” violation of a state ban on private funding that was put in place after accusations that donors used money to push left-wing influence ahead of the 2020 elections.
The funding in question originated from the U.S. Alliance for Election Excellence, the project said in a letter last week calling for a probe by the state attorney general, secretary of state and state elections board.
“We’re now fairly well convinced this is an attempt to do two things,” Honest Elections Project Executive Director Jason Snead told Fox News Digital. “To get around those bans on private funding by doing either what they did in DeKalb County, by looking for loopholes and end-a rounds, doing what they can to get money into these offices; or by doing what I think they feel is even more important work, which is to pump influence into these offices.”

This bear just doesn’t want to stay in his enclosure. 
Ben, the Andean bear, escaped his enclosure at the Saint Louis Zoo on Thursday.
All zoo guests were told to shelter in place until he was later found not far from his habitat.
He made it 100 feet before he was tranquilized.

The Hill reported:
The Saint Louis Zoo has reopened following a lockdown Thursday after Ben, an Andean bear, escaped from his enclosure.
Ben was found hanging around the River’s Edge, not far from his habitat. Zoo personnel were determining a plan to get Ben home, or into an enclosure he cannot escape.
After the bear was determined to be missing, zoo guests were told to shelter in place or stay in their vehicles.

The same bear escaped from his habitat earlier this month.
He escaped by toying with a part of the steel mash surrounding his habitat that caused a cable to give way.
Fox2Now reported:
An Andean bear briefly escaped his enclosure at the Saint Louis Zoo Tuesday morning, prompting staffers to initiate emergency protocol to safely and securely get the animal back inside his holding area.
According to Billy Brennan, a zoo spokesman, the incident occurred outside operating hours and was resolved before the zoo opened to the public.
Around 8 a.m., staffers discovered Ben the bear managed to get free from his enclosure in the River’s Edge. By about 9:40 a.m., the bear had been safely corralled near his habitat and staffers were able to tranquilize Ben and returned to his space.
After reviewing the evidence from the incident, the zoo does not suspect human fault or tampering was involved in the escape. Rather, this was a Goldilocks-esque case of Ben toying just the right spot on the steel mash surrounding his outdoor habitat, which caused a cable to give way and allowed Ben to make his way out.
The zoo said they will “investigate other alternative ways to secure the habitat.”
