Wheelgun Wednesday: NAA “The Green Huntsman” .22 Magnum

Welcome back to another week of Wheelguns Anonymous (WA aka Wheelgun Wednesday) where we all share our addiction to revolvers of all kinds (this is a safe space for classic steel, we don’t discriminate). We spent the last 1 1/2 months covering Charter Arms and their “Professional” series, and between your comments and my burnt-out brain, I believe it is time for a change. So, for this week’s edition of Wheelgun Wednesday, we are going take a look at the North American Arms (NAA) “Green Huntsman” series in .22 Magnum and .22 Long Rifle/.22 Magnum. Thankfully, this series from North American Arms (NAA) isn’t going to take us a better part of the year to cover. So, let’s dive in and check out the two unique models from the North American Arms (NAA) “Green Huntsman” series to see what they’re all about!
The North American Arms (NAA) “Green Huntsman” series includes a .22 Long Rifle/.22 Magnum Conversion model (available as NAA-TGH-C), and a .22 Magnum Only model (available as NAA-TGH-M).

North American Arms (NAA) “The Green Huntsman” .22 Magnum
If dainty “pocket rockets” are your thang, then North American Arms has a gem for you. The North American Arms (NAA) “Green Huntsman” .22 Magnum will be a fire-breather and barky lil’ boy with its 2″ barrel and modest grips. It dons an OD Green (Olive Drab Green) Cerakote frame with black accents throughout. Additionally, a Cross-Draw Holster by DeSantis with matching OD Green thread is included with this firearm as well. The shortlist of important specs are listed below as provided by North American Arms:

Cartridge: .22 Magnum
Barrel: 2″ Heavy Vent
Capacity: 5 Rounds
Cylinder: Unfluted, Heavy “Bull”
Sights: Fixed Low Profile Sights by Marble Arms
Action: Single Action Only (SAO)
Grips: Oversized Rubber
Length, Height, Width: 5.88″ | 3.69″ | 1.00″
Weight: 8.9 oz.

North American Arms (NAA) “The Green Huntsman” .22 Magnum – MSRP $419.99
The North American Arms (NAA) “The Green Huntsman” in .22 Magnum only has a current MSRP of $419.99. If this is something that has already piqued your interest, this should be available as a micro-revolver to order from your nearest online or brick ‘n mortar firearm retailer.

Our Black Widow and Mini-Master Mini-Revolvers evolved from our popular .22 Magnum frame series and include the time tested design characteristics that are incorporated in all NAA Mini-Revolvers. The result is enhanced stability and accuracy for the shooter.
The Green Huntsman has a Heavy Vent Barrel, a Bull Cylinder, Over-sized Camo Rosewood Grips and comes with Fixed Low Profile Sights, by Marble Arms. It has an OD Green Cerakote Frame w/Black Accents and includes a Cross-draw Holster, by DeSantis with matching OD Green Thread.
North American Arms (NAA) “The Green Huntsman” .22 Long Rifle/.22 Magnum Convertible
The bigger brother to what could be viewed as the standard Green Huntsman is the Convertible version. With the ability to shoot both .22 Long Rifle and .22 Magnum, it simply affords the owner more utility, cheaper ammo in 22 LR, and something a little more pleasant to shoot (when you don’t constantly want to be using a flamethrower as is often the case with .22 Magnum in this size of a revolver).
Similarly, you once again have an OD Green (Olive Drab Green) Cerakote frame with black accents and receive a Cross-Draw Holster by DeSantis with matching OD Green thread. The cliff notes of specifications are listed below as provided by North American Arms:

Cartridge: .22 Magnum / .22 Long Rifle
Barrel: 2″ Heavy Vent
Capacity: 5 Rounds
Cylinder: Unfluted, Heavy “Bull” (Convertible; includes 2 cylinders)
Sights: Fixed Low Profile Sights by Marble Arms
Grips: Over-Sized Camo Rosewood Grips

North American Arms (NAA) “The Green Huntsman” .22 Long Rifle/.22 Magnum Convertible – MSRP $419.99
In my mind, this model looks slightly more shootable than the previous Green Huntsman because you have a chunkier grip to grasp onto. It might feel like popcorn going off in your hand, but the more purchase you can get on your grip, the better. The Convertible version has the same price point as its brother at $419.99.

You might be asking yourself, “Is that it?”… And the answer is:
Yes… that is it… we are done here.
Not every firearm, revolver, AR-15, or space blaster that hits the market nowadays is going to be a complete reinvention of the wheel that makes you reevaluate what you’ve been doing with your life. Sometimes it is simply a razzle-dazzle of Cerakote here… some hillbilly camo there… and TA-DAH! a new firearm model.
I am definitely not the target market for a pocket rocket, boot gun, or Imma-shoot-you-under-the-poker-table kind of gun owner this is meant for, BUT I once again appreciate that another manufacturer is trying to be creative, give us more options, and see “what sticks” with consumers. As always, let us know all of your thoughts about North American Arms and the Green Huntsman in the Comments below! We always appreciate your feedback. […]

Los Angeles Mayor Urges ‘More Fortunate’ Residents To Help Fund Housing For Homeless

Authored by Katabella Roberts via The Epoch Times (emphasis ours),Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass has suggested that “more fortunate” residents help fund housing for the homeless as part of a new campaign to tackle the city’s ongoing homelessness crisis.Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass speaks during a press conference to announce new efforts to curb recent retail thefts at City Hall in Los Angeles, Calif., on Aug. 17, 2023. (Frederic J. Brown/AFP via Getty Images)Ms. Bass, a Democrat, announced the “LA4LA campaign,” which she said would speed up the creation of affordable housing for homeless individuals, during her State of the City address on April 15.The mayor called on “fortunate Angelenos”—including business leaders, philanthropic organizations, and others—to help the city “acquire more properties, lower the cost of capital, and speed up housing” for the homeless population under the new program. However, Ms. Bass didn’t provide further details regarding the specifics of the campaign, such as how much money business leaders and organizations should donate or how exactly the campaign will work.“We have brought the public sector together and now we must prevail on the humanity and generosity of the private sector,” the mayor said. “LA4LA can be a Sea Change for Los Angeles–an unprecedented partnership to confront this emergency … an example of disrupting the status quo to build a new system to save lives.“We will not hide people. Instead, we will house people,” she continued. “This means committing to the goal of preventing and ending homelessness—not hiding—not managing—but ending homelessness—with a new strategy and a new system that urgently lifts people from the street, and that surrounds them with the support and housing they need to never go back.”Bass Touts ‘Inside Safe’ ProgramDuring her address, the mayor touted her efforts to move homeless Angelenos out of short-term housing, including hotels and motel rooms, and into apartments under her “Inside Safe” program. That program, which initially launched in December 2022 when Ms. Bass declared a state of emergency on homelessness, has seen roughly 2,500 homeless individuals taken off the street and placed into interim housing, according to the mayor’s office.A total of 440 people have also been placed into permanent housing under the program, as per her office. However, roughly 613 of those who took part in the program have returned to homelessness, according to the Los Angeles Homeless Services Authority. Another 42 have been incarcerated, and 38 have died, as per the agency.Ms. Bass said Inside Safe is “our proactive rejection of a status quo that left unhoused Angelenos to wait–and die–outside, in encampments until permanent housing was built.”Budget Deficit WoesStill, the mayor acknowledged that more than 46,000 people in Los Angeles currently have no home and stressed that motel rooms rented out on a nightly basis are increasingly adding up at a time when the city is already struggling under a burgeoning budget deficit.Los Angeles is currently facing a projected $467 million shortfall, driven by increased spending and lower-than-expected revenues.Ms. Bass noted that the homelessness crisis—along with the continued opioid crisis that is fueling fentanyl overdose deaths—has affected residents of Los Angeles both mentally and financially, forcing them to “pay the cost of the thousands and thousands of fire, paramedic and police calls.”The ongoing issues plaguing the city are also driving away business and tourism, she noted, highlighting the fact that many companies are fleeing the city out of safety concerns.“I just will not accept this–and our city cannot afford to accept this. That is why we are disrupting, challenging, and rebuilding the system. Inside Safe and our overall approach is evolving and will continue to evolve,” the mayor said.Loading… […]

NOTHING TO SEE HERE: Soros-Funded DA Alvin Bragg Fundraises Nearly $1 Million Since Politically Motivated Indictment Against Trump

Soros-funded Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg has reportedly raised nearly $1 Million since making good on his campaign promises to indict Trump.
Per the New York Times, “Alvin Bragg, the Manhattan D.A., campaigned as the best candidate to go after the former president.”

Jury selection is still underway for Bragg’s election interference lawfare case against Trump. Last April, Trump was hit with 34 felony counts of falsifying business records and conspiracy.

The far-left judge overseeing the Stormy Daniels trial trampled all over Trump’s First Amendment rights with a strict gag order.
Juan Merchan earlier this month expanded Trump’s gag order to bar Trump from making factual statements about the judge’s far-left family members after it was learned that the judge’s daughter, Loren Merchan, is a far-left political operative who worked for the Biden-Harris campaign and received tens of MILLIONS of dollars from Democrats who want to take down Trump.
As The Gateway Pundit reported, the first seven jurors in liberal Judge Juan Merchan’s Kangaroo Court, and they all get their news from the far-left New York Times. The trial is rigged.
Right Side Broadcasting Network reports,
Amid the start of President Donald Trump’s now-infamous “hush money” trial in a Manhattan Criminal Court, disturbing allegations have emerged that paint a picture of District Attorney Alvin Bragg’s possible financial boons for prosecuting the 45th president.
According to a report from Newsweek, based on campaign finance data, Bragg has raised more than $800,000 since indicting the 45th president in 2023. If he is not reelected in 2025, his term as DA in Manhattan will end in 2026.
The outlet stated that the money was raised between March 2023 and the last reporting date of January 2024.

It can be recalled that Bragg, in 2022, reduced 52% of all felony charges to misdemeanors. He then elevated a misdemeanor charge against Donald Trump, where the statute of limitations had already expired, to felony charges last year.
As Bradley Smith, Institute for Free Speech Chairman, Capital University law professor, and former Federal Election Commission Chairman, notes in an op-ed for The Federalist, the made-up felony charges against Trump are completely baseless, setting aside the clear conflicts of interest with the prosecution and the judge.
DA Alvin Bragg argues that Trump falsified business records in order to “conceal crimes that hid information from the voting public during the 2016 presidential election” and to “boost his electoral prospects.” Under this theory, Bragg claims that Trump violated campaign finance laws by not publicly reporting so-called campaign expenditures to influence the outcome of the 2016 election.
As Smith writes,
Misreporting business expenses is normally, at most, a misdemeanor. Bragg seeks to ratchet it up to a felony here by arguing that the misreporting was done to cover up a crime. That alleged crime is a violation of the Federal Election Campaign Act (FECA). The theory is that Trump’s payments to Daniels were campaign expenditures and thus needed to be publicly reported as such. By not reporting the expenditure, the theory goes, Trump prevented the public from knowing information that might have influenced their votes.
But let’s think about this for a minute. Political candidates do things all the time that are “for the purpose of influencing an election,” but that, nonetheless, are not considered campaign expenditures. For example, a candidate cannot buy a new suit, get his teeth whitened, or pay for cosmetic surgery with campaign funds, even if he does so for the purpose of looking good on the campaign trail.
That’s because, in campaign finance law, these types of expenditures are known as “personal use.” FECA specifically prohibits the conversion of campaign funds to personal use, defined as any expenditure “used to fulfill any commitment, obligation, or expense that would exist irrespective of the candidate’s election campaign.”
Does anyone really think a candidate should be able to use campaign funds to settle lawsuits, or threatened lawsuits, arising from activities that occurred long before his candidacy? It’s stressful being a candidate, and a little relaxation may make the candidate more effective on the stump. Does that mean your campaign contribution should pay for a candidate massage? How about a country club membership, or tickets to the Super Bowl (after all, the candidate might take along a potential donor)?
Herein lies the most frightening part of this prosecution: Had Trump made these payments with campaign funds, it seems a near certainty he would now be facing criminal charges for a knowing and willful diversion of campaign funds to pay personal obligations. If Bragg’s prosecution is successful, it will mean a candidate can use campaign funds to pay almost any obligation that, the candidate might argue, would benefit his candidacy. Perhaps worse, zealous prosecutors could get a candidate coming or going — falsification of records if campaign funds are not used, and illegal personal use if campaign funds are used.

On Thursday, Joe Hoft published an article further explaining the complete lack of criminal conduct asserted by radical Soros-funded New York City Alvin Bragg in his lawsuit against President Trump. Joe Hoft was then invited on The War Room with Steve Bannon to discuss his investigation:
Joe Hoft on The War Room: Manhattan DA Bragg’s Case Against President Trump Do Not List Any Crimes – Adjusting Accounting Entries Are NOT Crimes (VIDEO)

Per Greg Price on X:
In 2022, Manhattan DA Alvin Bragg reduced 52% of all felony charges to a misdemeanor.
In 2023, he then elevated a misdemeanor to a felony that both the DOJ and his predecessor refused to go after so he could indict the Republican nominee for president.
Today, Donald Trump will be in court for it because America is currently making Putin’s Russia look like a free country.

Stacy Lewis laments lack of LPGA coverage amidst Nelly Korda historic run

Nelly Korda might be the hottest golfer on the planet right now. Yes, that includes Scottie Scheffler, the Masters winner who has won three of his last four tournaments.
That is because Korda has actually won four straight herself.
She is preparing for her fifth straight this week at the LPGA’s first major of the season, the Chevron Championship.
Two-time major champion Stacy Lewis addressed what Korda has accomplished leading up to the event.
“It’s very impressive. Four very different golf courses. And the three weeks in a row I think was the most impressive,” Lewis said.

“The amount of energy it takes to do that, I thought you would’ve maybe seen a little drop in play at Match Play just getting a little bit more tired.”
Not only did Korda not lose energy on the course, she dominated the competition. That was especially true during her matches over the weekend.
However, the championship match between Korda and Solheim Cup star Leona Maguire in its entirely could not even be viewed. Lewis also expressed her displeasure with the lack of television coverage.
“We got to continue to push our TV partners to help us get more coverage. I was disappointed to not see that entire match on Sunday on TV. I just felt like you’re really probably looking at a two-some, three to three and a half hours of golf, and I was really disappointed we didn’t get that entire match on TV.”
Instead, the Golf Channel split time with Korn Ferry Tour coverage.
That is embarrassingly poor decision making by the powers that be. Women’s golf is on the rise. Purses are at an all-time high, as more eyes and therefore ad revenue is being created.
Knowing the history of the sport and how male-dominated it has been, it would make sense to try and push the LPGA as much as possible.
It is easy to understand why Lewis was not thrilled. But she also recognizes that Korda is going to have to pick up the mantle to make a change.
“I think Nelly does have a responsibility, and she probably doesn’t always want it, just knowing her… We have to push out partners to say, how can we make this happen. It’s getting creative. Maybe changing tee timing, playing earlier, later, whatever it is. We got to figure out a way to be more visible.”
Lewis, an all-time great in her own right, is spot on with her assessment. The LPGA needs more visibility.
These women are incredibly talented athletes and deserve the attention.

WATCH: Rep. Jim Banks Stuns and Confuses Columbia University President When He Asks a Question Regarding How the School Spells the Word “Folks”

Credit: @charliekirk11
House Education and Workforce Committee held a hearing beginning at 10:15 A.M. this morning titled “Columbia in Crisis: Columbia University’s Response to Antisemitism.” As the name suggests, the hearing focused on Columbia’s lackluster response to the threats Jewish students face on campus.
Columbia University’s president, Nemat Shafik, served as the star witness. She was originally asked to testify at the House Education and Workforce Committee’s hearing in December but had to back out allegedly due to “scheduling conflicts.”
Rep. Jim Banks (R-IN) stole the show when he showcased a guidebook the school used that deliberately spelled the word “folks” f-o-l-x. This misspelled word is a so-called “gender inclusive” term used by the woke left to “appeal” to the transgender community.
He also pointed out that the term “folx” was used in the school of social work, making this a university term.
When he asked Shafik about this, she was left completely stunned and befuddled. The only thing she could think of was that perhaps the authors did not know how to spell and nervously laughed.

She then laughably tried to deny this was an official document, but Banks would not let her off the hook. She eventually agreed with him that the term was inappropriate but continued to deny the school officially uses the term.
WATCH:

Wow! Rep. Jim Banks questions the President of Columbia, Minouche Shafik, on a woke guidebook sent out to all Columbia students:
REP. BANKS: “Can you explain why the word ‘folks’ is spelled f-o-l-x throughout this guidebook?”
SHAFIK: “They don’t know how to spell? I’m not… pic.twitter.com/087IrOVs0j

Transcript:

Banks: Can you help me understand something else? I didn’t go to any Ivy League school. Can you explain why the word “folks” is spelled f-o-l-x throughout this guidebook and in other places in the school of social work? Serious question.
Shafik (stunned): They don’t know how to spell? I,I, uh, am not familiar with that (chuckles).
Banks: I don’t find it a laughing matter.
Shafik (confused): I’m not laughing either. I think it’s uh, uh…
Banks: You’re denying this is an official product, yet you are aware it’s being handed out to all of your students, and you’re not doing anything to stop it.
Shafik: It’s not an official product of Columbia University.
Banks: Is this how Columbia University spells the word, “folks?”
Shafik: No.
Banks: Is this an acceptable term?
Shafik (shaken): Congressman, I am, I’am with you (chuckles nervously) I,I, agree with you. I,I, don’t’ find this a meaningful way, uh…
Banks: This was handed out on your watch.
Shafik: This is not an official product of the University.
These screenshots below show that Columbia University also uses “folx” across its website. This means Shafik was completely clueless or lying during her testimony.

Doug Casey On The New American Dream: “You’ll Own Nothing and Be Happy”

Via InternationalMan.com,International Man: According to a recent study by Investopedia, the classic middle-class American Dream now costs over $3.4 million. That’s the estimated lifetime cost of marriage, two children, cars, homes, healthcare, education, and retirement. It’s now entirely out of reach for many Americans. What do you make of this? How did this happen?Doug Casey: The fact is, despite the fact that his standard of living has been slipping over the past 50 years, the average American today lives much better and longer than a king during pre-industrial times. There were never any guarantees that Americans would live in the lap of luxury for their entire lives. We got to this high standard of living for two reasons. One, people tended to produce more than they consumed and saved the difference. And two, technology has been improving at almost the rate of Moore’s law for the last 200 years. However, there’s no guarantee that either of these fonts of progress will continue, especially since savings are being wiped out by the destruction of the dollar. A lack of savings means there won’t be a capital pool to finance further advances in technology. But there are other serious things at work, termites eating away at the foundations of civilization. It’s become customary for Americans to think that it’s okay for some people to live their entire lives without producing at all and to live at the expense of others. A lot of the country is on welfare. And many more are buried in consumer debt, which means they’re either living off the capital others have saved in the past, or they’re mortgaging their own futures. On top of that, since about 1980, the main export of the US hasn’t been Boeings or soybeans; it’s been dollars. Foreigners have accepted those paper dollars in exchange for real wealth. They’re really just another form of debt. At some point—soon—they’ll repatriate them in exchange for titles to land and companies.Capital is also being destroyed by the constant wars that the US fights against trivial countries on the other side of the world. The fact is that our institutions, from corporations to academia to government, have become corrupt, ineffectual, and bloated. The Second Law of Thermodynamics tells us that, in the physical world, things inevitably degenerate over time. That’s also true in the world of human action. In general, as any institution gets old, it winds down. That’s true of the US, and it’s apparent to everyone—at least anyone outside of the Washington Beltway.International Man: As the American middle class continues to shrink, it seems the “New American Dream” is to merely get by and make ends meet.People will have to rent instead of own. They may not be able to afford kids, pets, ribeye steaks, or retirement. They’ll have to take on a lot more debt. The “New American Dream” looks more like the WEF’s “you’ll own nothing and be happy.”What’s your take?Doug Casey: It’s rather shocking that in a traditionally middle-class society like the US, that the “one percenters”—typically those wired to the State and major corporations—now own about one-third of the total wealth. What’s even more shocking is that the bottom half of society only owns 2% of the country’s wealth. That kind of an imbalance makes for instability. No wonder it’s said that the average guy can’t lay his hands on even $500 cash if there’s an emergency. No wonder a criminal like Klaus Schwab can promote his “You’ll own nothing and be happy” meme and not be hung from a lamp pole— a lot of people now feel they’d be better off in that kind of world.Increasingly, the wealth of the country is owned by corporations and their top management. It used to be said that “What’s good for General Motors is good for America.” I used to believe that because General Motors actually created cars, and that was good. But we’ve devolved. GM and other major corporations have become defacto arms of the State. Taxes, staggering regulations, subsidies, and bailouts have destroyed free-market capitalism. The capitalist system in the US is long gone. We’ve devolved into classical Mussolini-style fascism, which is to say, State corporatism, where corporations and the State work hand-in-glove.It’s euphemistically called a public-private “partnership.” The people in government and the people in top corporate levels scratch each other’s backs and reinforce each other’s positions. They feed each other power and money. This makes for a highly politicized society, where connections, not production, are what count. For instance, in the last election, $14 billion was spent on campaign spending to get the hoi polloi to vote for one party or another. But only a fifth of that money came from small donors—the rest from the wealthy and corporations. Of course, the rich are getting richer, and the poor are getting poorer as our highly politicized society degenerates.International Man: Many people look back on how they viewed the future and how it was portrayed in movies. Many thought we would have flying cars by now, among other futuristic luxuries.Instead, we have a declining standard of living, and people look back on the good old days.Where do you think this trend is headed?Doug Casey: We’re heading in the wrong direction at an accelerating rate because there’s been a breakdown of moral fiber in society. People, in general, no longer understand what’s right and what’s wrong—or what’s good and what’s evil. They’re taking less responsibility for their individual lives and what happens around them. We’ve gone from a high-trust society, where you didn’t need to lock your car or your front door, to a low-trust society, where everybody is constantly observed, and security is of critical importance. At the same time, the country has generally gone from having low time preferences and being future-oriented to high time preferences; “I want it all, and I want it now.” They’re not as future-oriented as they once were.Going back to the question of moral fiber breakdown, the economic observer Thorstein Veblen coined the phrase “conspicuous consumption.” People wanted to show off expensive cars and clothes to advertise to other people that they were more successful. But now, because of all the debt in society, anyone can have a nice car. And nobody even cares about nice clothes anymore; everybody wears the equivalent of T-shirts and jeans. The trend setters have moved from owning and displaying frivolous goods to displaying frivolous ideas—like Wokeism. Everybody is adopting those ideas, to show that they’re hip, in-the-know, and part of the cognoscenti. In the past, adopting the conspicuous consumption lifestyles of their betters would only make them poor. Adopting these degenerate ideas makes them stupid and immoral—which is much worse.International Man: What advice do you have for struggling middle-class people who are about to be kicked down to the lower class?Doug Casey: First and most important, don’t go to college unless you need a STEM degree—Science, Technology, Engineering, or Math.Going to college today does nothing but misallocate four critically important years of your life, permanently indebt you, and corrupt your mind with the idiotic ideas that Marxist professors and administrations cram down students’ throats. Educate yourself. Read constantly.Next, work to become self-employed, not to “get a job.” You don’t want to rely on a job that somebody else gives you. And save your money—but don’t save in fiat dollars. Save in gold. When you have sufficient savings, learn to speculate and invest.International Man: As you’ve noted, The Greater Depression is a period in which there will be a significant decline in the general standard of living. Is there any way to make lemonade out of these lemons?Doug Casey: We’re well into what I’ve long called The Greater Depression. But I’d point out that most of the real wealth in the world will still exist – it’s just going to be owned by different people. The opportunity will exist for nimble entrepreneurs and speculators to do well, even as most people’s standard of living drops. But the big question is: For how long will the societal trend that we’re now on continue going down? When Rome collapsed over a period of several hundred years, living well and peaceably got harder and harder as Europe entered the Dark Ages. Even if you had a lot of money, it really didn’t do you that much good. That’s why it’s important to preserve what’s left of the idea of America.*  *  *Unfortunately, there’s little any individual can practically do to change the trajectory of this trend in motion. The best you can do is to stay informed so that you can protect yourself in the best way possible, and even profit from the situation. Most people have no idea what really happens when a currency collapses, let alone how to prepare… How will you protect your savings in the event of a currency crisis? Rose Zhang flip flops on leaping into lake with Chevron Championship win

Rose Zhang is making her Chevron Championship debut this week, as the youngster is approaching her one-year anniversary on the LPGA Tour.
She started 2024 with a full course load at Stanford and played in multiple LPGA Tour events. Zhang’s quarterfinal loss at the T-Mobile LPGA Match Play event two weeks ago marked her best finish of the year, a T5.
Now she is looking for her first major title. But if she were to win it, Zhang will be faced with a difficult decision.
Traditionally, the winner of this event jumps into the lake next to the 18th green.
Ahead of the Chevron Championship, Zhang could not decide if she would keep with tradition.
“I was talking to my caddie about it. I have played ANA and the ANA Junior Inspiration before. The pool looks a little nicer than out here,” Zhang said. “I saw the board. At that point, if you’re a major championship, why not? Just jump in. Yeah, I don’t think I would do it voluntarily,” Zhang said jokingly.
Last year, Lilia Vu kept the tradition alive by jumping into the lake after she won her first major.
Zhang made history last year, winning her LPGA debut at the Mizuho Americas Open and took the world by storm. She is used to making history, as Zhang closed her amateur career off by winning back-to-back NCAA Individual titles.
With her maiden victory, the former Stanford Cardinal earned her way in four of the five majors in 2023. She recorded three top 10s, finishing T9 at the U.S. Women’s Open and the Amundi Evian Championship with a T8 at the KPMG Women’s PGA.
If Zhang were to come out on top Sunday, it seems like it would be a spur-of-the-moment decision to see if she will keep the tradition.
