Welcome everyone to the 202nd edition of ‘Hot Gat or Fudd Crap?’, one of our many series here on TFB. If you’re new to the series, this is where we look at the most obscure firearms that are actually for sale and ask the question – is this Gat a sweet deal or only have Fudd appeal? Each week the TFB staff weighs in with their thoughts, but readers get the final say in the poll at the bottom of each article.
In our last edition, our poll showed that you, the readers, decided the tactical lever gat was just fudd crap.
At this time, the original auction remains up with the same very high price tag still in place. We can only hope this one-of-a-kind lever gat will find its way to a new responsible home in the very near future.
In this week’s edition of HGFC, we look at a custom Noreen ULR chambered in .50 BMG. As is tradition, this very short gat is currently up for sale on GunBroker for $2,999 Buy It Now.
HOT GAT or FUDD CRAP?
50 BMG Pack-a-Punch or Full Sucker Punch?
Let’s see what the Staff had to say about this week’s offering:
“Those brass knuckles are duplo AF. -Forbes R.”
Selling this massively chambered tiny gat is GunBroker seller gomoose02, located in Grand Forks ND. Let’s see what they had to say about this custom one-off Noreen.

As TFB’s resident .50 BMG enthusiast, I almost feel like it’s my job to defend .50 BMG chambered rifles. Then something like this comes along. For those not familiar, the .50 BMG was John M. Browning’s answer to the United States military’s need for a heavy machine gun. Rather than not re-invent the wheel, he simply scaled up the already-in-use 30-06 and developed the M2 Browning. This 45-inch barrelled monster is still a staple of the United States military and sees no signs of being discontinued.
The reason I point out the barrel length is the reason why guns like this are hard to justify. Even companies like Barrett and Cadex will only go down to 20.6-inch barrels. Shorter than this causes a massive loss in trajectory. Paired with the muzzle break (you need it so your shoulder doesn’t get dislocated), a polymer bipod and not-so-sturdy stock isn’t the best idea. But hey, at least you have a cool brass knuckle grip? Look I could go on and on, but you get the idea. Do I think this would be fun/funny to shoot a couple times? Yeah sure. Do I think it’s worth just shy of 3k? No, absolutely not. I do however enjoy seeing a quality not made-in-China optic on this setup.
What do you think? Is this little Noreen chambered in .50 BMG cool enough to be worth a cool $3k or are you better off saving up for something else? As always, I leave it up to you, the readers, to decide.
