HOT GAT or FUDD CRAP? Magazine Fed Majesty or Pump Action Travesty?

Welcome everyone to the 219th edition of ‘Hot Gat or Fudd Crap?’, one of our many series here on TFB. If you’re new to the series, this is where we look at the most obscure firearms that are actually for sale and ask the question – is this Gat a sweet deal or only have Fudd appeal?  Each week the TFB staff weighs in with their thoughts, but readers get the final say in the poll at the bottom of each article.

In our last edition, our poll showed that you, the readers, decided the Vepr-12 was a very hot gat.

HGFC — Russian Rarity or Waning Popularity? — Poll Results

At this time the original auction still remains up with the Vepr-12 still up for grabs.  Perhaps the price was too high or the economy is in shambles. Either way, we hope this Russian shotgun will find its way to a new home in the very near future

In this week’s edition of HGFC, we look at a custom magazine fed Mossberg 500 chambered in 12 Gauge. As is tradition, this magazine fed gat is currently up for sale on GunBroker for $199 Buy It Now.

HOT GAT or FUDD CRAP? Magazine Fed Majesty or Pump Action Travesty?

Well, after doing some digging, I finally managed to figure out what exactly this strange magazine contraption was. Ladies and gentlemen may I present the Adaptive Tactical Vensom-SE. This magazine conversion kit for the Mossberg 500 and 590 series shotguns brings the capacity up to 10 rounds. Sadly this only works with 2 3/4″ shells, but hey it’s not the end of the world.

However, if it was the end of the world, maybe bring something else. Luckily the seller in this case was kind enough to disclose that this gun doesn’t run and is being sold as-is. Can’t say this is the first time I’ve seen or heard of a drum magazine not working, but hey, to each their own.

So what do you think? Is this Mossberg 500 worth it for the price or would you rather have a pump action that ran right out of the box? As always I leave it up to you, the readers, to decide.
