Nonimmigrant Admissions

Nonimmigrants are foreign nationals granted temporary admission into the United States. The major purposes for which nonimmigrant admission may be authorized include temporary visits for business or pleasure, academic or vocational study, temporary employment, or to act as a representative of a foreign government or international organization. Report Title (Link to Report) Report Description
Yearbook of Immigration Statistics This annual report includes a collection of tables that provides data on those who were admitted into the United States on a temporary basis. It also includes tables on those who were granted lawful permanent residence; applied for asylum or refugee status; were naturalized; or who were the subject of enforcement actions, including noncitizen inadmissibility determinations, apprehensions, removals, and returns.
Nonimmigrant Admissions Annual Flow Report This annual report presents workload information on total nonimmigrant admissions and detailed data gathered from I-94 arrival records on the number and characteristics of nonimmigrant admissions to the United States, providing information such as country of citizenship, port of entry, state of destination, age and sex, and class of admission.
Lawful Permanent Resident Supplemental Data Tables These tables include data on persons obtaining lawful permanent resident status by state of residence and country of birth and immigrant orphans adopted by U.S. citizens by sex, age, and residence.
State Immigration Data Sheets This annual set of tables provides 10 years of data for each of the 50 states, the District of Columbia, and Puerto Rico, with data on I-94 nonimmigrant arrivals, including raw counts and per capita counts, along with state rankings for each within each year. They also include data on total, new arrival, and adjustment lawful permanent residents; naturalizations; refugee arrivals; and total asylum grants (affirmative and defensive combined).
Estimates of the Size and Characteristics of the Resident Nonimmigrant Population in the United States This report has annual estimates of the resident nonimmigrant population in the United States.
Legal Immigration Adjustment of Status Report This quarterly report provides tables with preliminary legal immigration counts based on data available one month after the reporting period and details the number of adjustments of immigration status, presenting data broken out by type of adjustment, type and detailed class of admission, and country of nationality.
Nonimmigrant Classes of Admission List This list provides the classes of admission for nonimmigrant admissions into the United States.
COVID-19 Vulnerability by Immigration Status This report presents population estimates by four categories of immigration status–lawful permanent residents (LPRs), resident nonimmigrants, refugees and asylees, and unauthorized immigrants–and addresses unique COVID-19-related risks each status group may face.
