The Raiders appear to be getting healthier.
Defensive end Maxx Crosby, wide receiver Jakobi Meyers, running back Zamir White and rookie guard Jackson Powers-Johnson were all back at practice Friday. Each appears to have a chance to play Sunday against the Pittsburgh Steelers.
Crosby, who has been dealing with a high-ankle sprain, missed practice Wednesday and Thursday but appeared to be moving around well during the open period of Friday’s workout. He appears on track to follow the same schedule he did last week. He missed last Wednesday and Thursday’s practices but worked out on a limited basis Friday and played in the Raiders’ 34-18 road loss to the Broncos.
Powers-Johnson, who wears No. 58, missed Wednesday’s practice with a knee injury. The Raiders need his physicality against the Steelers’ defensive line, a message coach Antonio Pierce made sure to deliver directly.
“I kind of got Jackson going a little bit,” Pierce said. “He wears that five-eight. I said, ‘Man, it’s a good week for five-eight to play really well,’ so that’s good.”
White, who leads the team in rushing attempts (49) and rushing yards (152), missed the Broncos game with a groin injury. The Raiders hope he can return Sunday. They’re also optimistic that starting right tackle Thayer Munford Jr., who missed the last two games with knee and ankle injuries, can play as well.
“I think both are trending in that direction,” Pierce said.
Meyers, who has become the Raiders’ No. 1 wide receiver with Davante Adams out with a hamstring injury, missed Wednesday and Thursday’s practices with an ankle injury.
This is a developing story. Check back for updates.
