Added to the recently launched Pursuit line of Stag Arms hunting rifles is the new Pursuit bolt action rifle. At SHOT Show 2023, we had a chance to take a look at the pre-production versions of this rifle. Let’s see what features Stag Arms offers in this new bolt action rifle.
Stag Arms @ TFB:
The Stag Pursuit Bolt Action Rifle is the start of a new line of user customizable lightweight precision hunting rifles for the sportsman who is in pursuit of the next challenge. With a completely custom 700-pattern design and a tri-lug bolt the rifle features an incredibly smooth action and 60-degree throw for lightning-quick follow-up. The chassis is a three-part modular design comprised of magnesium alloy, glass filled polymer and aluminum, enabling future modifications and customization with new stocks and handguards that will completely change the look and application of the rifle.
Stag Arms Pursuit bolt action rifle is fed from AICS pattern magazines and will be initially available chambered in .308 Winchester and 6.5 Creedmoor with more caliber options to follow. The detachable barrels and Remington 700 footprint receivers of the rifle are made of 416 stainless steel and have a nitrided finish. The receiver is fitted with a top Picatinny rail section. The bolt can be disassembled without a use of tools, has a removable head and dual spring-loaded ejectors. The stock of the Pursuit bolt gun features an adjustable cheekpiece, spacer-adjustable length of pull, and ambidextrous QD sling swivel sockets. The forearm has ambi QD sling sockets, M-LOK slots at the bottom and a front 1913 rail extension for attaching bipods. The stock and forearm are removed from the lower receiver by pushing out the cross pins which are similar to AR15 takedown/pivot pins.
According to Stag Arms reps, the Pursuit bolt gun should hit the market in Q3. No price information is available at the moment.
