DS Arms, known for their FAL-style rifles, recently revealed an addition to their line-up with a clone of the Cuban contract model. This historical piece reflects the specifications from the era before Fidel Castro’s rise to power. The rifle captures authentic details, including a period-correct flash hider, distinct markings, and a wood stock fitted with a polymer handguard. Those interested in this particular model can look forward to a $1,945 MSRP, with the shipments expected to start next month.
In a move to diversify their offerings, DS Arms also introduced the Kommando model for 2024, which features a design aimed at enthusiasts seeking a more compact rifle. The Kommando sports a shortened barrel, achieving a total length of 16.25 inches thanks to a pinned and welded muzzle device. This model departs from compatibility with the DSA MLOK handguard due to its truncated barrel length. Potential buyers can choose between two variants of the Kommando: one with a fixed stock and another with a folding stock, providing options to match shooters’ preferences.
Expanding beyond the rifles themselves, DS Arms announced the imminent availability of a suite of new accessory parts. The forthcoming accessories aim to enhance the customization and functionality of their rifles and include:
- An ambidextrous bolt catch lever
- Quick-detach (QD) sling mounts for both the handguard and stock
- An ambidextrous safety selector
- A thread adapter to accommodate the more commonly used US-standard 5/8×24 muzzle devices
The roll-out of these accessories is scheduled for the coming two to four months, indicating that enthusiasts won’t have to wait long to upgrade or personalize their DS Arms rifles.
