Holosun, a leading manufacturer of innovative optics, is soon to release its latest technology, the Integrated Rifle Infrared System (IRIS), a compact, class IIIr visible green aiming device with updated features promising to improve night vision capabilities and bolster precision.
The IRIS comes equipped with a coaxial mounted class 2m Infrared (IR) laser and an IR illuminator. The IR illuminator can be switched between “flood” and “spot” via an ergonomic slider, offering a choice between wide-area illumination and focused light for more distant targets. Furthermore, an advanced electronic selector is designed to switch between visible, IR pointer, IR illuminator, or a combination of IR pointer and illuminator.
The IRIS will include LED indicators aiming to guide users about the mode currently in operation, helping eliminate any confusion arising amidst operations. This neat feature adds to the sophistication and user-friendliness of the device.
IRIS uses a CR123 battery. It can be activated either from a top-mounted fire button or by employing a compatible, industry-standard remote switch. This flexibility in activation options adds to the list of user control elements incorporated into the design.
Despite these multiple features, the device maintains a compact form factor, with dimensions set at 3.2 x 1.97 x 1.34 inches and a weight of 6.35 oz. The body is crafted with 7075 T6 Aluminum housing.
Suitability for an extensive range of environmental conditions is assured with the IRIS’s IPX8 Level Waterproof certification. As for precision adjustments, the IRIS provides a travel range of about ± 50 MOA, with 0.5 MOA adjustments for both windage and elevation per click.
The retail price for the IRIS is estimated to be around $800 – a price that many users may find justified when considering the cutting-edge technology and thoughtful features included within this compact yet potent device.
Holosun’s latest offering cements its position in the optics industry, underlining its commitment to technological advancements and improvements in optics solutions. The IRIS, with its efficient design and detailed specification, stands true to this commitment.
